debut – das critic.de premierenkino celebrates its birthday: For one year now young critics from Berlin have been presenting international discoveries for the very first time in a German cinema. In keeping with the tradition of the past months, debut brings on its anniversary an award-winning film to Berlin. The relationship drama „Guernsey“ by Dutch filmmaker Nanouk Leopold („Wolfsbergen“, „Les Flottantes“) garnered the Golden Calf for Best Director at the Nederlands Film Festival as well as the Dutch Film Critics Award. Leopolds Film about a young woman, whose seemingly harmonious life is shattered by a tragic event, captivates by its subtle mise-en-scène.
Subsequent to the screening the audience is invited to participate in a panel discussion with film journalists and film experts.
